Macrolane breast sculpting
I have been thinking about having my breast enlarged but I do not like the idea of surgery. I’ve heard of the new Macrolane treatment and would like to know:
What exactly is the product used and are there any side effects?
Macrolane is a filler that is made of non-animal hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in abundance in your skin and has many different functions including keeping your skin hydrated. Although Macrolane is a new product, hyaluronic acid fillers have be used for over 10 years with no serious side effects. After treatment you can expect some discomfort, swelling and bruising which will pass in a matter of days. Allergic reaction to the product is extremely rare.
Will the results be the same as having surgery?
Macrolane treatment is not the same as surgery. It is most suitable for those with an A or B cup wanting a fuller shape or a larger breast. The product is carefully placed throughout the breast, not just in one place like an implant which should give a more natural result.
How long do the effects last?
The effects of the treatment can last up to 18 months. If you would like to maintain your results, a top up every 12 months or so is recommended. Of course, this would be cheaper than a full treatment as less product is required.

I am in my mid forties and have got deep lines around my mouth which are getting worse. I have been thinking about having fillers for a while but would like a little more information:
Would the lines be slightly reduced or totally non visible?
Filler treatment can soften lines considerably but may not remove them completely. An experienced doctor should be able to give you a good idea as to what to expect.
Would I still have the same muscle movement after the injections?
These treatments do not affect muscle movement or expressions in any way. It is Botox that does this.
How much does this cost and how often would I need to repeat this treatment?
Different types of filler are available from different manufacturers. It is important to match the best product to the area that needs treating and so a thorough consultation is extremely important. Treatments start from approx £199 and can last from anything from 4 months to a year depending on the product used.
Will I see an immediate result?
Yes, results are immediate. There can be some mild swelling or puffiness for a day or so after treatment. Once this has passed, you will see your true results.
