Easy Phytic Peel
The Easy Phytic Peel from Skin Tech is a combination of three different alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) including glycolic acid and phytic acid. This special formulation is a controlled, auto-neutralising solution that results in "Slow Release" technology - dermal stimulation without visible peeling. There is no "down time" and so social and work life is not affected, leaving you to carry on as normal while your skin is repaired.
Indications for the Easy Phytic Peel include:
• Acne
• Prevention and treatment of photo-aging
• Pigmentation & blemishes
• Large pores
This peel can be performed as and when but best results are seen with a course of 6 on a weekly basis. Maintenance treatments can then be performed every few weeks or as required.
Easy TCA Peel
Tricholoroacetic acid (TCA) penetrates more deeply and hence is more powerful than AHAs (alphahydroxy acids). However, you should be prepared to peel visibly with this peel. This is similar to the peeling you may have experienced after mild sunburn on holiday.
Your skin will feel tight and may darken in the first 2 days after treatment. Peeling usually starts around day 3 post treatment and continues for 3-4 days. After treatment, it is important to use the appropriate Skin Tech creams recommended by Dr Townshend. It may be that skin preparation with medicated creams is required before your treatment, especially is you have a darker skin.
Indications for the Easy TCA Peel include:
• Acne
• Prevention and treatment of photo-aging
• Pigmentation & blemishes
• Melasma and cholasma
• Fine lines and large pores
• Keratoses
This peel can be performed as and when but best results are seen with a course of 4 on a monthly basis. Maintenance treatments can then be performed every few months or as required.
FAQ's
Does it hurt?
A mild burning sensation is felt a short while after the solution is
applied which lasts a few minutes. A fan is used to help cool the skin
and makes this more comfortable. The stronger the peel, the stronger
the sensation but also, the better the results. Your skin may be
sensitive, flaky, dry or irritated while it peels but this process
should not be painful.
Is it safe?
Millions of these treatments have been performed worldwide and are very
safe in expert hands. It is very important to carefully follow the
aftercare advice that you are given to ensure no unwanted effects.
What is downtime and how long does it last?
Downtime is the term given to the time after the procedure that your
skin is dry, flaky and red as it peels. During this time, you may not
want to go out in public and so it is usual to plan the timing of your
peel so that you can have a few days in which to recover. In the days
after your peel, it is very important to ensure that you wear good sun
protection when outside as your skin will be sensitive to the sun.
An Easy Phytic Peel involves no downtime. Deeper peels will give better results but can have a downtime
of up to 5 days.
How long does it take?
The treatment itself takes 30-45 minutes.
