What is Macrolane?
Macrolane is a natural filler product (hyaluronic acid) similar to dermal fillers that have been used in the face for 10 years.
Is it safe?
Yes - hyaluronic acid is naturally present in large amounts in your skin. There have been no reports of significant medical problems including rigorous trials which began in 2002.
Who will perform the procedure?
Dr Askari Townshend is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and has over 5 years experience in surgery including breast surgery and reconstruction. As well as performing the treatment, he also conducts all consultations and follow ups personally. After the treatment, you will be given Dr Townshend's mobile phone number to ensure that you have 24hr access to medical advice for peace of mind. As with consultations, all follow ups are free of charge.
Does it hurt?
The procedure is performed with local anaesthetic which numbs the area to be treated. Dr Townshend's experience enables him to perform this procedure with very little discomfort at all.
How long does it last?
A single treatment can last up to 18 months. However, a top up every year or so is recommended to maintain optimum results.
